One day while walking on the edge<\/P>

<\/SPAN>I thought that I would try,<\/P>

To soil my sole, to take a step<\/P>
\n

<\/SPAN>and yet keep clean and dry<\/P>
\n

\n

<\/P>
\n

And ‘lo perhaps if I should fall<\/P>
\n

<\/SPAN>Or something worse unfold<\/P>
\n

The remedy was right with me<\/P>
\n

<\/SPAN>My pocket full of gold.<\/P>
\n

<\/P>
\n

<\/P>
\n

I walked out deep, I felt no fear,<\/P>
\n

<\/SPAN>As you can clearly see<\/P>
\n

The safety net, that you can get<\/P>
\n

<\/SPAN>With gold so plentily<\/P>
\n

\n

<\/P>
\n

But now I stand up to my knees <\/P>
\n

<\/SPAN>And sinking very fast<\/P>
\n

There’s something that I could not see<\/P>
\n

<\/SPAN>But late, at last, I grasp<\/P>
\n

\n

<\/P>
\n

And with a frown, my head goes down<\/P>
\n

<\/SPAN>Below the mirky foam<\/P>
\n

The weight to bear of gold so fair<\/P>
\n

<\/SPAN>Has crushed me like a stone.<\/P>
